#‎AfricasBiggestBookProject‬ Narrator Spotlight: Olamipeju Lawal-Adekunle


Olamipeju Lawal-Adekunle is the founder of TGS EVENT a.k.a THE GIRLS SHOW NIGERIA. She is a social Entrepreneur, on-air-personality, writer and an advocate for young women.


Olamipeju began THE GIRLS SHOW from a radio platform on Unilag Radio 103.1fm as a weekly phone-in radio show. It first aired in April 2012 and has had an unbroken run since then. It began as a platform for informing and empowering young women in Nigeria through the use of role models, interviews, debates and sharing real life stories. Focus areas include health, relationships, empowerment and self-discovery. 

Her vision is to empower young women in Nigeria to live healthier, fuller lives. From her exploits on radio, she developed THE GIRLS SHOW into a quarterly conference which is tagged THE GIRLS REVOLUTION. This conference has held 13 editions in partnership with various institutions, companies and individuals including United Nations (UNDP), Lagos State Government, Office of the Public Defender, Lagos, The WellBeing Foundation, Africa etc. since August, 2012 with a cumulative attendance of about 13,000 young women from various tertiary institutions and about 40 secondary schools.
