We Have Discovered A New Planet, Courtesy of A 15 Year Old

For those who missed this last week...

Tom Wagg, 15, while on internship at Keele University, Staffordshire, spotted a tiny dip in the light of one star, 1,000 light-years away from the data collected by cameras in South Africa that monitor millions of stars in the Milky Way. After two years of further observations, scientists have confirmed Tom actually discovered a new planet.

The planet is thought to be similar in size to Jupiter, and Tom, who is now 17, is thought to be the youngest person ever to find a planet.
