Briefly: Oh No! The Famous Paris Love Locks Have Been Taken Down!

Weighing heavily on both sides of the Pont des Arts bridge in the city of Paris, were hundreds of thousands of 'Love Locks' left by lovers as a symbol of their undying love to each other. With their names engraved on a padlock, they lock it on the bridge's mesh and toss the key into the river below.

With an estimated 700,000 keys in the river and locks so heavy they obscured the view and necessitated renovation of the bridge, it was only a matter of time before Paris City Officials made the decision to remove the grids and love locks which will be recycled as works of Art.

P.s -  A love lock or love padlock is a padlock which lovers lock to a bridge, fence, gate, or similar public fixture to symbolize their love. Typically the sweethearts' names or initials are inscribed on the padlock, and its key is thrown away to symbolize unbreakable love.
