This Thing Called Process...

While trying to get into a cab, I slipped and almost injured myself.
"Easy" the elderly cab driver said.
"Ah, Oga, I'm running really late." I said defensively.
He turned to look at me and said slowly, "We will get there when we get there. Your rushing will not change anything."
I had to admit albeit reluctantly, that he was right.

Understanding this principle is difficult for my generation. Everything is configured to deliver the same or
similar value at half the time and cost it would have taken to do so -Noodles instead of pasta, drive-in fast food outlets have replaced home cooked meals, smartphones instead of those annoying Nitel queues; DIY banking. 3D printing. We are a generation in a mad rush. No time for anything; no patience to wait.

But herein lies the snag - Everything in the universe is driven by process; a method, a system. Whether we are aware of it or not does little to change the fact that it is so. If you want to bake a cake, and because of your impatience decide to increase the heat in the oven; you will burn it.

A lot of us try to disregard or by-pass process but we pay for it at the end. Somehow we always do.
It will take as long as it will take; stop expending your energy trying to short circuit the principle.
